Come Unto Christ

Summer in Sydney

Happy Monday!

I hope you're all well, happy, and healthy :) Sydney continues to be beautiful and all is well in Macquarie 3!

Last week, we had a zone conference, which was great until they asked me to bear my last testimony in front of 61 missionaries...that was slightly depressing. Sister Checketts gave us a training on the apostle, Peter. We talked about the symbolism or the lessons learned from the story when he walked on water towards Christ and thought it was fascinating.

Peter had so much faith in the beginning that he stepped onto the water in the middle of a storm. He knew that with Christ, anything is possible. He kept his focus on Christ and miraculously walked on water. Then he let the outside influences distract him and he took his focus away from Christ. He was scared and started to doubt as he took his attention away from the Saviour. Our focus needs to be on Christ, especially in times of trial and affliction. As we make Jesus Christ the focal point of our lives, we will be lifted up. We are given strength through His grace and mercy. We can do all things in Christ. Because of Him, we will have eternal life with our families, we will one day be perfected and glorified just like our Father in Heaven, we can receive peace and joy in this life no matter what, and we can experience the greatest joy in the life to come.

For the past 18 months, my purpose has been to evermore effectively invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. This simple invitation changes lives. I've seen it bless the lives of so many people as they discovered the love He has for them, especially here in Sydney. I've seen it in my own life as the people around me, especially all of my companions, have invited me to come closer to my Saviour. I know He lives and I know He loves me. My life has been changed forever as I accepted this invitation to come unto Him. I love my Saviour and I love my Heavenly Father. I love this Gospel with all of my heart and I am incredibly grateful for the sacred privilege to be called of God and invite all to come unto Christ.
